The Town of Moreland is initiating the process to begin the 5-year update of its local comprehensive plan. The comprehensive plan develops, establishes and promotes the city’s vision for the future. The update will be prepared according to rules for local comprehensive planning adopted by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA).

The purpose of the public hearing is to brief the community on the process to be used to update the local comprehensive plan, opportunities for public participation in development of the plan update, and to obtain input on the proposed planning process. The plan update will also allow the Town of Moreland to maintain its Qualified Local Government (QLG) status, and therefore be eligible for state grant funds, loans, and permits. Those interested in learning about and participating in the plan update are encouraged to attend the meeting.

The public hearing will be held at the Moreland Town Hall, 7 Main St, Moreland, GA 30259, on April 6th at 7:00pm.
